Why we built this

Everyone has lived this moment: you need to fix one line in a PDF, you find a "free" online editor, you do the work — and right at the download button it demands an account, a subscription, or stamps a watermark across your document. FileSnap exists because that moment shouldn't exist. Editing, signing, splitting, merging, organizing, compressing, and converting PDFs are everyday tasks, and they should be genuinely free.

How it works differently

FileSnap's tools run entirely in your browser using modern web technology — the same rendering engine Firefox uses for PDFs. Your files are never uploaded to a server: not for processing, not for storage, not for anything. That architecture is why we can offer no file size limits and no daily caps — there's no server bill scaling with your usage — and why the tools are safe for sensitive contracts and personal documents.

How it stays free

The site shows ads. That's the entire business model — no premium tier waiting behind a toggle, no feature ransom, no selling of user data (we never see your files, so there's nothing to sell). Ads fund the development, and every tool stays fully unlocked for everyone.
